Torremolinos recovers its San Miguel Fair with attractions and live music at the fairgrounds and in the city center

From Friday, September 24 to Sunday, October 3, Torremolinos will celebrate its fair and remember the Pilgrimage with different initiatives in various areas of the city

Torremolinos, September 13, 2021. The mayor of Torremolinos, José Ortiz, the councilor for Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Aida Blanes, and the councilor Lucía Cuín, have reported today on the celebration of the traditional San Miguel Fair, in an edition that this year it will be adapted to the health situation and that it will have an extensive program of concerts at the fairgrounds and in the center as well as mechanical attractions for the little ones.

Thus, the mayor has indicated that “Torremolinos will celebrate its San Miguel Fair with enthusiasm and hope after last year we were unable to do so.” “After the good result of the last La Carihuela Fair, this will be an edition adapted to the health situation and with all the security measures. Torremolinos cannot and does not want to renounce its traditions. We take another step towards the desired normality, and therefore, from Friday September 24 to Sunday October 3 we will celebrate our fair and remember the pilgrimage, which this year we will not be able to celebrate, with different activities in various areas of the city, reinforcing security in all these events ”, he said.

The attractions, located in the fairgrounds, will run from Tuesday, September 28 to Sunday, October 3, this year one day more than in previous editions, the last day being celebrated as in previous editions on Children’s Day with very high prices. reduced. The hours will be from 6.30 p.m. to 2 a.m. and every day from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. the music equipment will not work as a commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities for children with ASD or sensory diversity .

On the other hand, the councilor Aida Blanes explained that the fairgrounds will host the only three municipal booths that will operate this time, from Wednesday, September 29 to Saturday, October 2. Thus, the City Council has reported that, due to the health situation, the booths located in the fairgrounds will not be able to open to avoid crowds. In this way, the Auditorium will open, the Aguas de Torremolinos booth will be enabled as a Booth for the Third Age and a tent will be installed as a Children’s Booth near the attractions area.

The Prince of Asturias Municipal Auditorium will feature concerts by La Trinidad, Delaporte and Ginebra on Wednesday, September 29; Suzette and Fuel Fandango on Thursday, September 30; Uniform and Iván Ferreiro on Friday October 1 and Ziryab, El Canijo de Jerez and La Húngara on Saturday the 2nd. All these concerts will have free admission until full capacity is reached and will include restrictions due to Covid-19.

For its part, the Children’s Caseta will feature animations and children’s theaters from Wednesday, September 29 to Saturday, October 2. Thus, there will be an exhibition of carts in the center on September 26, “and it is that our carts are a hallmark of our people and who we are”, arranging them between Avenida Palma de Mallorca and Avenida Isabel Manoja.
